Drama is taught on a weekly basis by specialist teachers. Over the course of the year the children will cover the following four topics:

August - October: Radio Drama

October - December: Pantomime

January - March: Play scripts

April - June: Elements of Drama

The children will be given the opportunity to develop a range of skills:

· Work cooperatively and successfully as an individual, in a small group or as part of the whole class

· Communicate and present work in a variety of ways

· Reflect on own ability and provide suggestions to others in order to enhance performance

· Use language and movement to portray characters in various scenarios

· Build confidence and understanding of text

· Use voice to create characters and play scripts to develop vocal projection, expression and clarity

· Devise endings to scripts to suit the original style of scripted story

· Show an awareness of the audience

· Perform work confidently to class or invited audience of other Junior School children
