Developing a Healthy Relationship with Technology

Whether it be Facetiming or Skyping relatives, using YouTube to listen to their favourite songs or videos, playing apps on a phone or tablet or looking up facts and information online, children are increasingly exposed to digital technology in their everyday lives.

While these technological advances give us a fantastic resource, there are issues regarding mental and physical wellbeing and safety that need to be considered and planned for from the very start.

For information to support your approach to supporting your child, Parent Zone Digital Parenting Magazine contains a wealth of useful articles and suggestions.

We use Seesaw at ESMS as an online Learning Journal and a way of sharing work and feedback with children between home and school. Your child will be given new login details at the start of each school session. https://web.seesaw.me

Seesaw is a tool for your child and their teacher to communicate with each other. Seesaw gives children a place to document their learning, be creative and learn how to use technology in a safe and positive way. Your child will be able to share selected aspects of their learning and their interests with their teacher and in turn, they can share that with you. Your child and teacher can add photographs of work, videos, drawings, voice recordings and notes.
